Driving through the lava field surrounding Lake Myvatn really makes you feel as if you are in the land that time forgot. It’s really surreal. I spent ages at this spot, climbing lava stacks trying to get the image I was imagining. I never quite got  it, but I like the patterns in the bottom of the pond captured here.

  1. Although the colours are muted in this ‘scene’, the bottom of the pond is really cool.

  2. That’s midge lake in English isn’t it? I bet you gave blood to take that photo.

    • I did, but not actually because of the midges. They weren’t about when we were there. I managed to cut my hands climbing up lava pillars in an attempt to get a better vantage point.
